The two popular varieties of double pushchairs are twin and tandem. Both the varieties contain two seats. The seats are attached one after the other in case of tandems, and placed adjacent to each other in case of the twin pushchairs. Tandem pushchairs are generally preferred by parents with children of different age groups. The front seat in such pushchairs is generally vertical and is better suited for elder children, while the back seat is adequately padded and can be adjusted to suit the needs of a newborn, with sufficient space to sleep.
